Welcome to USD 112- Quivira Heights High School
QuiviraHeights High School is a small rural 9-12 public high school in Bushton, Kansas. The school sits on the west side of Main Street near the south end of town. It is a combination of several community schools that consolidated in 1976. The communities of QuiviraHeights are small rural towns in the middle of Kansas. Those communities are Bushton, Holyrood and Lorraine. Just like other small rural towns, the major contribution to citizens of the area for a long period of time has been agriculture. Several students from Geneseo, which is located in the Ellsworth school district, attend QuiviraHeights as well. A new 9-12 building was constructed in Bushton, with classes starting in the new building in 1998. The staff at QuiviraHeights is very unique and offers a nice balance of veteran teachers with a mixture of young and energetic teachers.
Besides offering the required classes in Science, Math, Social Studies and English, QuiviraHeights offers Family and Consumer Science, Agriculture Education, Art, Spanish, Business, Chorus, Band, Weight Lifting, Physical Education and Wood Shop.
Our students have the opportunity to participate in football, volleyball, tennis, cross country, basketball, track, baseball, softball and golf. Organizations that students may join are KAYS, FCCLA, FFA and FCA.
All students have the opportunity to rent a laptop computer for use during the school day and they also have access to a library that uses the most recent up to date technology software.
