LUCILLE KAISER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT
by Patricia Kirmer
May 06, 2008
Lucille Kaiser has announced her plans to retire from her position with the Claflin Schools at the conclusion of the 2007-08 school year. Lucille has worked as a library aide in the elementary school for the past 26 years. The last four years she also worked as a paraprofessional in the Title 1 room, working alongside Connie Potts, helping our children one-on-one with reading and math skills.
Lucille has been
married to her husband, Ron, for forty-two years. Ron too worked
for the Claflin School District as a custodian at both the high
school and elementary building during his tenure. They have three
children and seven grandchildren. The Kaisers are grateful for
having the opportunity to have their children grow up in a small
town and seeing them all graduate from Claflin High School. Brad,
the oldest sibling in the family, resides in Kearney, Nebraska. He
and his wife, Terrie, have three boys. Troy Kaiser and his wife
Susan reside in Seymour, Indiana, and have one girl and one boy.
The youngest member of the family, Dale, and his wife Sonja live in
Hesston, Kansas. They have two girls. The grandchildren range in
age from 3 to 19 years.
When asked what plans she has after retiring, Lucille indicated
that she will work on various home projects as well as spend more
time in her garden. She also plans to spend more time with her
grandchildren and attend their various activities. She explained
that she hasn’t been able to attend many of their events at this
time due to the traveling distance. One other activity she plans to
do more of is to read, which was expected since she has devoted
twenty-six years of her life to working in a library. When asked
what she will miss most, Lucille responded, “I will miss the
interaction I have had with the children, and the wonderful feeling
I get when I see the children progress in their
learning.”
Lucille will definitely be missed next year. Her positive attitude and willingness to help each and every child will never be forgotten. Our children have been blessed to have such a dedicated person touch their lives. Hopefully, some of the most memorable times of her life are yet to be experienced in her retirement.
